Little Known Truths about INDIA

When I said I was Going to India in search of cultural experience I realised the world knows very little about this country that holds approximately 1/7th of the worlds population.

The few I told thought all I could find were spicy foods as well as women drapped in saris nothing else.

Well then here are my 6 truths:

  1. Local Tourisim is big

The first place i visites was the Hauz Khas and on a Sunday afternoon locals were there to see these sites that represent their heritage and history.

I thought that the trend will be different on my visits to other areas but the case was no diferent. For every Tourist site I visited on either a weekday or the weekend the story was the same.

Driving through Delhi you can see that there is a great number of trees as well as green grass on the sidewalk. I thought that this was only an attraction close to the airport but when

deiving through different areas of Delhi you find plants flowers that have had structures constructed specifically for the conserving the environment. Entry into the city of Jaipur has a wall of flowers to inform visitors of their location.

6. The Architecture

This is one of the things that India is famous for. It is through this that the Indian people have been able to capture the interaction between the various religions present in the country. where intermarriages existed between for example the Hindu and the Islamic religions.

The architecture also reflects the different powers and cultures that have been present in this subcontinent ranging from the Mogul Empire to the Indian Kingdoms as well as the British colonial rule.
